As I told you in one of my last posts I´m starting the "be fashion, save skirts" campaign. My reasons were exposed on that post, but I decided to wait a few weeks and reserch a little bit more, so I could find my favorite skirts and have some nominees!

Como les comenté en uno de mis post anteriores estoy comenzando la campaña "be fashion, save skirts" (se moda, salva las faldas). Mis razones las expuse en ese post, pero decidí esperar un par de semanas para investigar un poco más y así poder encontrar mis atuendos favoritos para nominar!

Happy birthday Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel

Today is a very important day in fashion history! Today is the 130th birthday of one of the most biggest fashion designer icons: mademoiselle Coco Chanel. As a lot of fashionistas through the years, I'm a loyal Gabrielle admire... Even, we could say: if Chanel were a music band I'll be her groupie!!

As a women I really admire the way she changed all the history of fashion and women's dress, I dare say she created a new way of being a woman: The fancy eternal mourning for the richest women in society, The inner liner bags, the way she says goodbye to the corset and hello to the women's freedom! She really changed the rules and her famous perfume "Chanel No.5" erase the dividing line between elegance and sex-appeal creating a new way of expression of ourselves through the senses!  

As the feminist fashion icon she was I must say I love her legacy and I think you can't find a most amusing biography than a Chanel ones.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GABRIELLE!!!

Hoy Es un día muy importante para la historia de la moda! Hoy es el cumpleaños número 130 de uno de los más grandes iconos del diseño de modas: mademoiselle Coco Chanel.

Como muchas fashionistas a través de los años soy una leal admiradora de Gabrielle! Incluso podríamos decir que: si Chanel fuera una banda de música yo sería su mayor fan! 

Como mujer realmente la admiro por la forma en que cambio la historia de la moda y el vestir femenino, me atrevo a decir que ella creo una nueva forma de ser mujer: El elegante eterno luto para las mujeres mas adineradas de la sociedad, El forro interno de las carteras, la manera en que le dijo adiós a los corsets y hola a la libertad femenina! Ella de verdad cambio las reglas y su famosísimo perfume "Chanel No.5" borro la línea divisoria entre la elegancia y el sex-appeal creando una nueva manera de expresarnos a nosotras mismas a través de los sentidos! 

Como el icono feminista de la moda que fue, debo decir que amo su legado y pienso que no podrías encontrar una biografía más entretenida que la de Chanel.

Skirt, skirt, skirt...

A few months ago a really old friend said something like "what happened with skirts?? Are they extinguished??", At that moment my answer was "no, that can't be possible!! I love skirts" but after several hours of shopping and a lot of time trying to make a street style pictures about skirts in my city I must say I lost the war... Skirts are a really rare fashion item here and yes, it's almost extinguished! 

I know Bogota is a cold and rainy city, but skirts are the most sexy and unique type of clothes that make a women more attractive than she think she is!! I can't believe we lost the path and prefer the whole comfy look than the feminine look... That is just sad. 

I decided to make this post just to share with you my dear fashion lovers, my deep love for skirts an start a blogger campaign: "be fashion, save skirts". Hace algunos meses un viejo amigo dijo algo así como "¿qué pasó con las faldas? ¿Se extinguieron?", en ese momento mi respuesta fue "No, eso no es posible! Yo amo las faldas!" Pero después de varias horas de compras y mucho tiempo intentando tomar fotos de "estilo urbano" con faldas en las calles de mi ciudad, debo decir que he perdido la guerra... Las faldas son una prenda muy rara acá y si, están casi extintas. 

Yo se que Bogotá es una ciudad fría y lluviosa, pero las faldas son una prenda muy sensual y y tienen el poder de hacer ver a una mujer más atractiva de lo que ella cree serlo!! No puedo creer que perdiéramos el camino y prefiriéramos vernos cómodas a vernos femeninas... Eso es triste.

Por esto he decidido hacer este post, para compartir contigo mi querido fashionista, mi profundo amor por las faldas y comenzar una campaña bloggera: "be fashion, save skirts" (se moda, salva las faldas).
